The Pittsburgh Steelers are the 23rd team to be outgained in its first nine games of the season since rushing and receiving yards were first tracked in 1933, but they are the first team from that group to have a winning record, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN.
The Steelers are now 6-3 after a 23-19 win over the Green Bay Packers at home on Sunday, they are in the thick of the playoff race despite being outgained in each game. Many would point to this fact being evidence of Mike Tomlin's strength as head coach of the Steelers. He is known for helping rosters out perform their talent levels. It seems that Mike Tomlin is at it again with this year's Steelers.
The next two weeks present tough matchups, but great opportunities for the Steelers, as they will play divisional opponents in the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals on the road. The Steelers beat the Browns earlier this season at home, but have not played the Bengals yet this season.

Regardless, the Steelers are 6-3 and have a great chance to make the playoffs with a few more wins over the coarse of the rest of the season. The offense improving throughout the rest of the season will determine how dangerous Pittsburgh is down the stretch and in a potential playoff run.
