The Buffalo Bills had one of the best offenses in the league last year and that expanded into fantasy football. Stefon Diggs slept on heading into fantasy drafts prior to the start of the 2020 NFL Season. However, after his impressive campaign with Josh Allen under center, expectations are high for Stefon Diggs' fantasy football outlook.

Diggs received a boost in production last year after Josh Allen stepped up in a big way. The Bills quarterback took a huge leap in production and ended up as a finalist for the MVP. Buffalo is set up to be one of the best teams in the NFL again, which bodes well for Stefon Diggs' potential.

The front office brought in Emmanuel Sanders, who is a bit older, but still has the talent to be a threat in the passing game. Cole Beasley is also due back who played like a top slot receiver in 2020. With solid pass options around him, defenses aren't able to double-team Diggs nearly as often as they'd like. For that reason, Diggs has the potential to finish as the WR1 this year.

Stefon Diggs Fantasy Football Outlook

2020 Fantasy Statistics

2020 was Stefon Diggs' best season yet. He ended the year with 127 receptions, 1,535 yards, and eight touchdowns. Those stats resulted in 328.6 fantasy points in PPR formats. He was the third-highest scoring receiver in fantasy football and likely helped a ton of people win their leagues. Diggs had a career year in his first season with the Buffalo Bills and many expect him to repeat that performance.

For whatever reason, Stefon Diggs was being faded in the fantasy football world before the start of the 2020 season. He was being drafted as a middle-round selection. The connection between Diggs and Allen was unexpected, especially since it was so immediate. The Bills struggled in the run game last year though, which might've led to more passing opportunities. Either way, Diggs was a monster in fantasy football last season.

There is reason to believe that 2020 was Diggs' ceiling year though. Receiving over 1,500 yards is a difficult task that is difficult to repeat. However, if anyone can do so it's Diggs. Josh Allen targeted Diggs 166 times last season which allowed Diggs to dominate in fantasy football. With the Bills relying so much on their passing game, Diggs has a chance to repeat his performance from a year ago.

2021 Fantasy Projections

According to ESPN's fantasy football projections, they expect Diggs to take a slight dip in production. They believe he'll finish with 110 receptions, 1,405 yards, and nine touchdowns. That would equate to 303.39 fantasy points on the season, which is 25.21 fewer points than last year. Even so, he's still projected to be the WR3 on the year, with only Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill ranked ahead of him.

It'll be interesting to see how fantasy football plays out this season as there is the extra regular-season game. That added game should elevate production a little bit, so it's possible we see Diggs provide bigger numbers in 2021. He's going to be Allen's favorite target, and with Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders serving as the next best options, Diggs should feast in Buffalo once again.

Diggs is a freak athlete who beats out his opponents often. His quarterback has a cannon of an arm. Between the two, they create the perfect pairing in the Bills passing game as they've proven to be a dangerous tandem. Approach Diggs as an elite wide receiver in fantasy football this year, as he has the potential to be one of the highest-scoring assets again.

Rank at Position

Following ESPN's Average Draft Position list (ADP), Diggs is currently ranked at number 12. That means he's being drafted in the late first to early second round of fantasy drafts. Typically, your first two selections should be elite players. Diggs provides just that for fantasy football and is a safe option this year. Consistency is key for success and Diggs has the potential to provide at least 20 points every single week.

This means you're going to be able to pair Diggs with another elite option which could give you a massive advantage. There is a real chance to select Diggs then someone like Nick Chubb as your first two picks this season. If that's the case, you've given yourself two fantasy football monsters from the get-go.
