The Buffalo Bills are entering the 2021 season as one of the best teams on paper as they hope to reach the Super Bowl this time around. Josh Allen will be under center, and expectations are high for him to repeat his near MVP performance from last season. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds, as the Bills play in a stacked AFC conference.

Even so, the Bills are in a situation where they're trying to negotiate an extension to keep Allen in Buffalo for the long haul. For whatever reason, neither side has come to an agreement. However, there doesn't seem to be any turmoil between both sides, which bodes well for the Bills. With that said, Josh Allen seems to be taking his time in signing a new contract, per Pro Football Talk.

During an interview with Adam Schein on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, Allen briefly mentions his contract talks with the Bills and he feels about reaching a deal. He states, “If it does, great. If it doesn't, great. I’m trying to be the best that I can be for this team this year. We've got a goal set. Like I said, it'll work itself out. . . . When it happens, it happens. I'm at peace with it.”

Josh Allen is obviously focused on the Bills season over receiving a big paycheck. This should be music to Bills fans' ears as typically contract negotiations can lead to holdouts or trade talks. It's rather rare for a player, especially as high of a caliber as Josh Allen to have such a laid-back approach towards signing an extension.

With his attention focused on this season, the NFL COVID-19 guidelines have created a massive advantage for teams who receive the vaccination. Josh Allen has had a similarly laid-back approach towards the vaccine, adding to the controversy of the topic. Considering how focused he seems to be on the 2021 season, one would think he'd want to receive the vaccination and give his franchise an advantage throughout the year. Either way, Allen awaits his contract and there is no rush on his side to get one done.
