Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson couldn't rise up to the task against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday and former wideout Steve Smith called him out. Smith was speaking on the NFL Network's Good Morning Football on Sunday morning and called out Watson for the way he handled himself during the game. Smith seemed trouble with the way Watson was signaling for first downs while the Texans were being shutout.

“Bro, put the ball down, get your ass back in the huddle and get your guys down the field,” said Smith via 247 Sports. “Quit signaling a first-down. Like, you're on their sideline (Signaling first-down) – Bro! It's 21 Donut! 21 ZERO!”

Smith said it's okay for a bit of showboating and admitted that he signaled a first down a time or two, but Watson needs to learn when the right time to do it is, and down 21-7 is not the time or place.

“When we was getting our ass whooped: Put the ball down, get back in the huddle, and let's go back to work,” said Smith. “Don't give me a first-down signal when you can't throw the ball past 20 yards and complete it! And when you did, you're giving it to the other team! … You showboat when you actually show up. Okay? They didn't show up. 21-7.”

Watson finished the loss against the Colts throwing for 235 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Although the loss wasn't completely his fault, there is no doubt that the Texans could have used a better performance from their franchise quarterback.
