The battle of LA continues in Las Vegas! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Lakers-Clippers prediction and pick.

The Lakers are (0-2) so far in the Vegas Summer League after losing to the Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets. The Suns got the best of them and beat them by 20 while the Hornets won by just three points in 2OT. However, it's cool to see Scotty Pippen Jr. and Shareef O'Neal playing for the Lakers. The sons of NBA Legends are wearing the Purple and Gold and that is great for the NBA. Those two, alongside Max Christie and Cole Swider, make for a solid roster.

The Clippers are (1-0) after beating the Memphis Grizzlies 94-76 on Saturday night. 15 different players ended up playing that night and so the starters didn't need to drain much energy. With two days off, the Clippers will be fresh to take on their rivals. Both of these teams will be looking to get a win as we might see some of the team's stars out in Vegas tonight.

Here are the Lakers-Clippers Summer League odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Why The Lakers Could Cover The Spread

This will need to be a game where O'Neal and Pippen Jr. really show out. With this airing on ESPN, the world will be watching to see how these two youngsters play. Pippen Jr. only scored 10 points in the loss to the Hornets while O'Neal only finished with four. He had a highlight-reel dunk, however, that sent Vegas into a frenzy. O'Neal only attempted four shots and he will need to be a bigger factor if he wants to help this team. Pippen Jr. shot only 4-15, so he will desperately be aiming for a bounceback performance.

Cole Swider ended with 21 points in the loss. He had the team-high in points and finished with four rebounds. If Swider plays well once again then the Lakers should be able to keep it close. But, the rest of the lineup needs to step up as a majority of the players had off nights. This team doesn't have very much experience but the same could be said about their opponent. It's not going to look pretty by any means, but if the Lakers want to cover this spread they must be the more aggressive team.

Why The Clippers Could Cover The Spread

LA took down the Grizzlies rather easily in their only game in Vegas. They scored 94 which proves how good this summer league roster is. Reggie Perry scored 17 in the win while Moussa Diabate, Brandon Boston Jr., and two others scored in double digits. Their starters didn't play for very long but still combined for 56 points. The team shot 41% which isn't bad considering its summer league. If the Clippers' offense repeats that performance they should cover this spread pretty easily.

The Clippers don't have the fancy names for Summer League but that has never stopped this team before. This team made the Play-in last year after not having Kawhi Leonard or Paul George for a majority of the season. Now with the addition of John Wall, this team could be giving the Western Conference a run for its money. I'm sure the summer league roster will play with the same intensity.

Final Lakers-Clippers Prediction & Pick

I like the Clippers to win this game and improve to (2-0) in the summer.

Final Lakers-Clippers Prediction & Pick: Clippers -4.5 (-106)
