After finishing with the second-worst record in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns selected Josh Jackson with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. While Phoenix was quiet in free agency, they emerged as a potential destination for Kyrie Irving, who requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

As Irving was ultimately traded to the Boston Celtics, the Suns will likely continue their rebuilding process. However, they will be without Brandon Knight who underwent surgery on his torn ACL sustained in a Florida charity game according to ESPN:

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight had surgery on Thursday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, a month after he sustained the season-ending injury during a charity game in Florida.

Knight was originally traded to the Suns in a three-team deal in 2015. Unfortunately, with Eric Bledsoe fully recovered from injuries, head coach Earl Watson made Knight the team's sixth man where he was eventually shut down after the All-Star break despite being healthy.

If Knight was healthy, it would have been interesting to see if the Suns attempted to trade him during the offseason. With Tyler Ulis establishing himself as Bledsoe's backup and Devin Booker one of the league's rising stars, the sixth-year guard played a career-low 21.1 minutes in just 54 games.
