Another playoff injury struck Phoenix Suns superstar Chris Paul on Sunday night and the entire NBA world is holding its breath. The good news is – Paul says he'll be “absolutely ready” for Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers (via ESPN).

Paul went down in the second quarter of Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers after he appeared to have twisted his right shoulder on a rebound battle against LeBron James and spent ample time lying on the floor right after the play. The entire Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix was silent as everyone quietly prayed that their Point God was okay.

“I just remember I felt ‘Uhh!' I heard like a crack, or whatever,” Paul described his initial reaction to the incident.

The initial report was that Paul had suffered a right shoulder contusion but there was no stopping the 11-time All-Star. After heading to the locker room, Paul stormed right back in and entered the game in the 5-minute mark of the second period to the delight of the entire arena.

Paul also shared that he watched an inspirational video from the late Kobe Bryant right before the game which came in quite handy when his shoulder injury happened.

“In the thing Kobe says, like, ‘Injuries, sometimes you just can't control them,'” Paul narrated. “So, that was all that was going through my mind after the play I got hit.”

Bad shoulder or not, Paul still finished with seven points and eight dimes in 34 minutes of play to help the Suns grab an important 1-0 lead against the defending champions.
