DeAndre Ayton made some headlines today making it very clear that he expects to be drafted No. 1 overall by the Phoenix Suns later this month.

The Arizona big man has been touted as a potential top pick for months now so it won't come as a big surprise if Ayton is selected ahead of the likes of Luka Doncic and Marvin Bagley III.

Ayton was asked after his workout today which player he compares himself to and he picked Kevin Garnett.

That's some big shoes to fill for a young player with a lot of talent but also a lot of questions.

Garnett was one of the most successful players to make the leap right out of high school back in 1995. He had a long and successful career that resulted in many awards and a championship in 2008 with the Boston Celtics.

Garnett won the MVP in 2004 in his best all-around season as a one-man show for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was always an elite defender who developed a deadly midrange shot that was unguardable for most of his career.

Ayton has been compared to Hakeem Olajuwon by some as he has shown incredible agility and skill for a player his size. He maintains he prefers to be a 4 in the NBA and take advantage of his skill as an outside shooter.

It will be interesting to see if Ayton does get selected by the Suns and if his career resembles anything like Garnett's. Phoenix fans certainly hope so.
