Phoenix Suns big man Deandre Ayton decided to get some new ink over the break, and it did not really fly over at the mean streets of Twitter.

For starters, here's a look at Ayton's new tattoo, courtesy of Hoop Central:

In case you couldn't make it out (it took us the better part of a minute, too), the tattoo actually says “DOMINAYTON”, which is obviously a play on words between “domination” and his last name, “Ayton”. We just thought we had to clear that out amidst all the confusion surrounding this new piece of body art — and if you look at the comments section of his tweet, there were more than a few bewildered folks out there.

Ayton is no virgin when it comes to tattoos. As a matter of fact, he has a couple of them all over his body. This new one, however, has got to be the most confusing one of them all. For some, the tat resembles whip marks, which according to Twitter investigators, is some sort of woke representation of the slavery suffered by Black men and women from centuries ago. We're not sure if that's what Ayton had in mind, though.

What we are certain of, however, is that the Suns center had an impressive campaign last season. In his second year in the league, the former first overall pick averaged 18.2 points (on 54.6 percent shooting), 11.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.5 blocks per contest. His improvement from his rookie year has been noticeable, and he seems primed for a breakout campaign this coming season.
