The Phoenix Suns have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season with the arrival of future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul.

CP3 has formed a formidable tandem with fellow All-Star Devin Booker on the Suns. But could they be gunning for a third star in the near future, possibly in the form of Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns?

Chris Paul posted an instagram story from years back with both Booker and Towns, which has sparks some way-too-early speculation on a possible move.

Suns Chris Paul Devin Booker Karl-Anthony Towns Timberwolves trade

The Suns finished the year with the second best record in the entire league at 51-21, just behind the Utah Jazz. But despite their lofty record and dominant play throughout the season, some would argue that the team lacks the superstar firepower to truly contend for the title.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been linked to his Kentucky teammate Devin Booker for quite some time now. But the buzz was always that Booker would join towns in up north. But with the Suns catapulting into an NBA powerhouse under the tutelage of Chris Paul, Towns' move to the West seems like the more logical path to a Towns-Booker reunion.

As things currently stand, Towns has been adamant that he wants to stay with the Timberwolves. The Suns themselves have yet to see how far they can go with their current core.

But things can change in an instant in today's NBA. After all, would anybody have predicted that Chris Paul would be feeding dimes to Devin Booker in Arizona five years ago when his IG story photo was taken? Stranger things have happened.
