It doesn't look like it's going to happen, but Phoenix Suns shooting guard Jamal Crawford still believes Carmelo Anthony can help a team in the NBA.

Anthony has been on the free agent market since February.

Melo appeared in 10 games with the Houston Rockets before the franchise decided to part ways with him. Houston exiled Anthony until they traded him to the Chicago Bulls in January.

The Bulls immediately waived Carmelo Anthony, who hasn't received interest from other NBA teams.

In the 10 games he played with the Rockets, Carmelo Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Anthony had a down season last campaign with the Oklahoma City Thunder as well. The hope in Houston was that playing alongside Chris Paul and James Harden would help Melo be effective with the Rockets.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen, as Anthony was a negative on the court for the Rockets.

Jamal Crawford isn't going to say anything bad about Anthony. Melo is one of the best scorers in NBA history and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day. It's just unfortunate he hasn't been able to leave the game of basketball on his own terms.
