It wasn't the brightest of days for the Phoenix Suns on Sunday as they dropped Game 3 against the Milwaukee Bucks. With star guard Devin Booker struggling to hit his shots, the Suns absorbed a 120-100 blowout defeat to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.

While the loss was painful, Suns coach Monty Williams could find solace in the fact that the entire Suns family is completely behind him. In fact, he revealed he has been receiving text messages from two-time MVP Steve Nash and other former Suns players, encouraging him to steer the team to its first NBA title (via ESPN).

“That's been pretty cool because I'm new to it and they have adopted me like I've been in it for a long time, but it's really not even two years yet. So the way that they have embraced me has been pretty cool.”

Since assuming the coaching job last season, Williams has truly endeared himself to the Suns community. He has entirely transformed the culture of the previously languishing squad with his humble approach and deep connection with players.

The 49-year-old Williams is relatively young for a coach so it's been easier for guys like Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges to relate to him. His past relationship with Chris Paul has also been a plus, as they are just two wins away from winning the championship trophy.

Nash, for all his greatness, fell short in delivering a title to the Suns. But seeing Williams reach the NBA Finals must be a huge consolation.
