Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley is making headlines of late after he went on an all-out verbal attack on Chris Paul. After the Phoenix Suns were eliminated by the Mavs on Sunday night, Beverley went toe-to-toe against ESPN's Stephen A. Smith as the feisty veteran spewed his slanderous take on CP3.

Stephen A was having none of it, though. The renowned broadcaster came to the defense of the Suns star, particularly when Beverley said that Chris Paul “literally can't guard” and that “everyone knows that” (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

To be fair, Smith did credit Beverley for being honest. However, it is clear that the ESPN anchor wasn't at all pleased with how Beverley desecrated CP3's name on live TV. Smith has a lot of respect for the Suns star and he did not appreciate Beverley's tirade.

Beverley and Paul have a bit of history with each other. These two aren't exactly best of friends and it seems to me like Beverley is taking full advantage of how CP3 and the Suns were just eliminated from the playoffs courtesy of Luka Doncic and the Mavs. In his mind, Beverley appears to think that now is the opportune time to speak his truths about his nemesis.
