Devin Booker has been a star player for the Phoenix Suns for a long time now, going back to before they were contenders in the Western Conference, and now Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are advocating for him to be in the MVP conversation for this season after seeing how he has performed so far.

“You know what? First off, let's give Devin Booker his flowers,” Kevin Garnett said with Paul Pierce, via Showtime Basketball. “His game has grown. They've asked him to come in and play make, and I didn't really necessarily think that he was a traditional point guard. Like you said earlier. Well, it's not so traditional no more. It's like where the lines are blurred, you know? We're just two guards handling it. I'm so used to seeing Devin Booker in that killer mentality at the two guard, that when he's playmaking lie this you gotta appreciate it. And I clapped for it.”

Pierce picked up where Garnett left off when talking about the Suns' home-grown star, saying that he should be in the MVP conversation.

“It's time to start getting him in the MVP talks, he's up there,” Pierce said, via Showtime Basketball. “I mean they've been rolling. … I said before the season I think Phoenix is coming out the west. If they get healthy, the way they've been playing, Durant in and out. Booker in and out. That's a sign of a good team, when you miss some of your stars and you still finding ways to win.”

The Suns are currently 12-8 on the season, and they face the Los Angeles Lakers tonight in the NBA In-Season Tournament.
