Devin Booker signed a five-year, $158 million maximum contract with the Phoenix Suns in the summer of 2018, and yet his name has been brought up in trade rumors a lot since the franchise hasn't won with the star shooting guard in the fold.

A new rumor about Booker wanting out of Phoenix, however, has been shot down by two credible reporters. The Suns went 8-0 in the Walt Disney World bubble during the seeding games, with Booker playing like a bonafide superstar.

Even though Phoenix ultimately missed the 2020 playoffs, the prevailing thought around league circles is that Booker is excited about the Suns' future.

Besides, according to NBA execs who spoke to Mike Scotto of Hoops Hype, there are a few reasons why Booker won't be leaving the Suns any time soon.

A league source also told HoopsHype there’s no truth to Devin Booker wanting out of Phoenix.

Several executives who spoke with HoopsHype believe Booker won’t be going anywhere because of his contract situation and his talent as a franchise cornerstone at such a young age.

“He has no leverage,” one Eastern Conference executive told HoopsHype. “He’s locked up for four more years. There is no way for him to demand a trade with that much time left on his contract.”

One of the best scorers in the NBA, Booker finished the 2019-20 season with averages of 26.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. The Suns have a nice core in Booker, Deandre Ayton and Kelly Oubre Jr., as well as a respected leader in head coach Monty Williams.

Moving forward, Phoenix must surround Booker with more talent so they don't eventually lose him down the line.
