While Super Bowl 56 was a very entertaining game that came right down to the wire between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, the epic halftime show was one of the biggest highlights. Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and surprise guest 50 Cent were absolutely magnificent, leaving the fans in awe with a jaw-dropping performance.

However, Eminem actually took a knee during his set, emulating Colin Kaepernick's stance from 2016 against police brutality and social injustice in America. By no surprise, the NFL has responded to his actions and revealed they already knew the rapper was going to do so.

Via ESPN:

“We watched all elements of the Super Bowl 56 show during multiple rehearsals this week and were aware that Eminem was going to do that,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy said.

Eminem performed his iconic hit “Lose Yourself”, then dropped to a knee:

There were some conflicting reports stating the NFL had asked Eminem to not take a knee during the Super Bowl 56 halftime show, but clearly, they've denied them. Nonetheless, Kaepernick would undoubtedly be proud to see one of the most famous artists on the globe following his lead and taking a stand. Kap hasn't played in the NFL since '16 because of his beliefs. It's a shame, but at least he's making a difference.
