Team Heretics simply outclassed Dragon Ranger Gaming as the EMEA team won their first match in the Swiss stage of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai (2024 VCT Masters Shanghai).

Team Heretics were simply a class on their own during their first Swiss stage match in Shanghai as they showcased how strong they were against the home crowd team. They simply swept China's Dragon Ranger Gaming in their best-of-three series, the only match that ended like so.

The EMEA team faced Dragon Ranger Gaming in two maps, which were Icebox and Sunset, in Shanghai, winning both games in a 13-5 fashion.

For the team's most valuable player during this series, the MVP award goes to Mert “Wo0t” Alkan. The designated duelist of Team Heretics posted 41 kills and seven assists in the two games played in the series, with 17 of those kills being the first kills of a round.

As for Dragon Ranger Gaming, their top fragger is none other than the team's initiator, Shao “Nicc” Yi-qun. For the two games that played out in this series, Nicc managed to get himself 30 kills and eight assists. 20 of those kills came from his top fragging performance on Sunset as KAY/O.

Team Heretics Outplays Dragon Ranger Gaming in Icebox

In Game 1 of the Team Heretics versus Dragon Ranger Gaming series in the 2024 VCT Masters Shanghai, Team Heretics heavily outclassed Dragon Ranger Gaming by finishing the game with a 13-5 scoreline.

In their dominant outing on the map, Team Heretics easily held off Dragon Ranger Gaming's antics in the entire game. As defenders, they took the first half to themselves by scoring 8-4 against Dragon Ranger Gaming. They then continued their onslaught in the second half, ultimately dropping only a single round before finishing the game.

In Icebox, the KAY/O main of Team Heretics, Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski, led the team with his 18 kills and 13 assists. Meanwhile, the rest of the team was not far off in their kill stats: Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish had 16, both Wo0t Enes “RieNs” Ecirli had 14, and Ričardas “Boo” Lukaševičius had 13.

As for Dragon Ranger Gaming, most of the team only had single-digit kills except for Nicc who had 10 kills to his name.

Team Heretics Completely Says Goodnight to Dragon Ranger Gaming in Sunset

The Team Heretics masterclass continued all the way to the second game on Sunset. Just like the previous game, they finished the second game 13-5, thereby successfully completing the only 2-0 sweep in the tournament thus far.

In this game, Dragon Ranger Gaming tried to spice up their agent composition by putting Zhang “Shion7” Haoze on Gekko, an agent they have never used before on this particular map. Unfortunately for the Chinese representatives, this move did not pan out as Shion7 ended up bottom fragging with only six kills and three assists to his name.

In spite of Dragon Ranger Gaming's surprise agent composition, Team Heretics had another dominant performance to finish off Dragon Ranger Gaming in Sunset.

In this game, Wo0t showcased how crispy his aim was, hitting multiple one-tap headshots as if he was on Chamber despite playing as Raze. At the end of this series, he finished with a third of the team's total kill count thanks to a near 30-kill performance, securing 27 kills with four assists and just 13 deaths.
