Bill O'Brien and the Houston Texans messed up a game that was supposed to be an easy victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The team collapsed in the second quarter as they let go of a 24-0 lead to lose by 20 points, 51-31.

One of the most questionable moments of the game was the fake punt the team pulled off in the second quarter. Some consider this as a huge blunder on the part of the coaching staff as it saw the start of the downfall for the Texans.

Naturally, the press asked the head coach about the atrocious performance and that puzzling fake punt. According to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson, O'Brien wasn't able to offer an answer and just said that he doesn't know what happened.

It may be true that the play just didn't work out for the Texans. However, the failed punt they failed to pull off gave the Chiefs the opportunity to come back to the game. If there's one thing that the Texans, the Titans, and the rest of the NFL learned today, it's to never give a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes the window to make a comeback or he will stomp you to the ground.

To be fair, the Texans did have a solid game. After all, they scored 31 points. Deshaun Watson was exceptional: he passed for 388 yards and two touchdowns while running for one rushing touchdown and 37 rushing yards. He was easily the bright spot in an otherwise atrocious Houston team.

Hopefully, things improve next season. Until then, O'Brien and the Texans will have to live with their decisions.
