Some players might grow dispirited at being traded so many times in their careers. But not Brandin Cooks. The veteran wideout will be playing for his fourth team in the last five seasons when he suits up for the Houston Texans in 2020.

However, Cooks takes it as a compliment, stating the fact he has been traded so often suggests his skills are in high demand. Cooks also noted the price for his services has always been either a first- or second-round draft pick, as well (via Sarah Barshop of ESPN):

“The way that I look at it, I take it as a positive and that I'm wanted, and that I'm valued at a high level still,” Cooks said on Thursday in his first public comments since he was traded to Houston from the Los Angeles Rams on April 9. “You look at all of the trades, they all were for a first-rounder, and this one, going for a second-rounder. To be honest with you, I'm blessed to be able to go around and play with so many different teams and different quarterbacks and different organizations.

Cooks had one of the worst years of his career for the Rams last season. He had a career-low 42 receptions for just 583 yards and two touchdowns.

Moreover, Cooks suffered the fifth known concussion of his career last October, which in turn has led to questions about his longevity.

The Rams rewarded Cooks with a big contract prior to the 2019 season, but they since deemed him expendable due to a pressing need to avoid future salary cap limitations.

Houston, meanwhile, will need Cooks to produce more in line with what he did between 2015 and 2018. The Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals, and Cooks, Randall Cobb, and Will Fuller V will make up for lost production.
