Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor was benched during the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts and he did not return to the game. It's since been reported that a wrist injury is what forced Taylor's early exit, and the latest update on the Texans' QB doesn't bode well for his availability next week.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Taylor is dealing with what is believed to be torn wrist ligaments. The 32-year-old will undergo further testing throughout the week in order to paint a better picture as to his status for Week 14 vs. the Seattle Seahawks.

In Houston's 31-0 defeat to Indy, Taylor completed just 5-of-13 pass attempts for 45 yards and an interception. He rushed three times for 15 yards in the game, too. Taylor has yet to be ruled out for Sunday's matchup with Seattle, so fans will have to wait until the team provides another update on his status to get a better picture of his availability for the weekend.

He was replaced by rookie Davis Mills, who similarly struggled against a formidable Colts' defense. Mills was Houston's third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He's featured in eight games, starting six, but the Texans are 0-6 in games he's started. On the year, Mills has seven touchdown passes and eight interceptions, completing 65.5% of his pass attempts.

If Taylor can't return for the clash with Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, his next chances to play would come in Week 15 on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars, or in Week 16 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.
