The Anthony Lynn era is over with the Los Angeles Chargers. The coaching news sent a shockwave throughout the NFL on Monday. The Chargers finished the season with a 7-9 record and finished third in the AFC West.

On the daily Locked On Chargers podcast, hosts Daniel Wade and David Droegemeier discussed this decision and how it surprised them. The surprise was largely due to the fact that they believed it was the right decision. Wade detailed the several botched moves that they have done in the past.

Wade: I mean, honestly it was just a little bit of genuine surprise. I just did not know if the Chargers were going to make that decision just knowing how they have handled their business throughout their history, you know, especially throughout their history of me being a fan. You know, watching them fire Marty Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season. I have watched them fire general managers having really bloody and stupid decisions with players being let go and those situations. They botched a lot with these types of decisions in the past, so I really just did not know 100 percent sure if they were going to make the decision. Like we said on the last show, we all thought it was the right decision to be made and to their credit, they made that decision of letting go of Anthony Lynn. Know obviously immediately after that, a lot to anticipate and to be excited about to see where they go for the next head coach of the Chargers.
