When Marvel releases a trailer for one of their upcoming films, everyone can expect the internet to go crazy. That's the same case when the first teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder was released just this week. As expected, the Chris Hemsworth-starrer caught everyone's attention and it quickly generated tons of hype for the upcoming film. And that isn't just some sort of hearsay as the said trailer has racked up around 209 million views in the span of a single day.

In a tweet by Marvel Studios, the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder has reached that insane number of views within 24 hours. The studio then thanked its fans for helping them reach this exposure in such a short amount of time, along with a GIF of Thor working out with a pair of immense chains while wearing a cap that says “Strongest Avenger” on his head.

This feat comes along nicely for Marvel after being criticized by fans for releasing the first trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder so close to its release date. Even if that's the case, the long wait only fueled the anticipation for this film.

Thor director Taika Waititi, meanwhile, said in a tweet that it won't be long before people start complaining about the full-length trailer. He then added that while the longer trailer is much-needed, the teaser itself has made him more excited to see the film.

And boy, what a teaser it was. Even with its short runtime, the first trailer for Thor was filled to the brim with fun details and easter eggs. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have spotted the hero's classic costume, the Greek god Zeus, and a better look at Natalie Portman's Jane Foster becoming the new Thor in this Taika Waititi film.

Even without a single shot of Christian Bale playing the film's primary antagonist, Gorr, it isn't hard to imagine how this teaser reached such an insane amount of views in a single day. In any case, the hype machine for Love and Thunder is just getting started, thanks to this first trailer from Marvel.
