It looks like Chet Holmgren had the whole OKC excited after his Summer League debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. In fact, even Mayor David Holt couldn't help but “overreact.”

After watching Holmgren put up ridiculous and historic numbers against the Utah Jazz at Salt Lake City, Holt took to Twitter to share that he's clearing his June 2023 calendar–basically hinting he sees the Thunder reaching the NBA Finals.

This is after promising to himself that he won't overreact to a Summer League game.

To be fair to Mayor Holt, the excitement is understandable. He's probably not the only one feeling the same after watching Chet Holmgren play for the Thunder. After all, the youngster made Summer League history as the first player with at least five blocks and four triples in a game ever.

Holmgren had 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists and six blocks in the contest. He also went 4-of-6 from beyond the arc as he lead the Thunder to a 98-77 win.

It's just one Summer League game, but we can't blame Holt or anyone in OKC for that matter if they are ready to jump the Chet hype train. He is largely considered as one of, if not he best prospect in the 2022 class. While he did end up getting picked second (because of his own decisions), it is clear he has the skills on par with Paolo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr.

Hey, should the Thunder end up being one of teams playing in June 2023, at least they already have one surefire ticket holder.
