Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul has been a more disciplined player in terms of taking care of his body. Although he still suffered several injuries over the past couple of seasons, he still managed to carve a great 14-year career. After admitting that he didn't take his meniscus tear rehab back in 2010 seriously, he said that he has been a changed man.

In an interview with ESPN, Paul said that he learned how to take better care of his body by using Hall of Famers Grant Hill and Steve Nash, as well as four-time MVP LeBron James as his role models.

“I had an opportunity to play with Grant Hill. It was his last year, with the Clippers. We used to talk about diet all the time. He used to be like, “During the summer, I sort of do 80/20,” like, he eats very healthy during the week, and then on weekends he may give himself a cheat day. Steve Nash took really good care of his body. Bron takes really good care of his body. The biggest thing all those guys have in common is discipline. I'm 34. I'm going to be chasing around a bunch of 19- and 20-year-olds. There's no excuse. If you get a routine and you stick to it, the sky's the limit.”

Hill's career has been plagued by injuries as well, but he still managed to play in the NBA for 19 seasons. Nash hasn't been bothered by injuries until the latter part of his 19-year career, and LeBron only suffered a serious injury last season, the first of his 17-year career.

After 14 seasons, Paul is still playing at a high level, able to keep up with the younger guys in the league. Although he's already 34 years old, he's still one of the best two-way guards in the NBA, and one of the main reasons why is his discipline. He may not be able to prevent himself from getting injured, but he's doing everything he can to take care of the things that he can control.
