Russell Westbrook isn't sweating another L in the column for his new-look Oklahoma City Thunder, putting them a 4-6 for the young season after a three-game skid capped by a ghastly performances against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
The Thunder were held to 16 points in the second and third quarter, going absolutely ice cold from the field against a Kings team that pounced on the opportunity to build a lead after coming out of a 15-point deficit after the first quarter.
Westbrook remained ever the optimist after a disappointing third loss in a row.
“I love nights like this,” said Westbrook, according to Fred Katz of The Norman Transcript. “It does nothing but bring you closer, as a unit, as brothers. I’m encouraged by the group of guys we have in that room, and I will be better.”
“We will be better, because I will be better, and I’m not worried,” Westbrook added, per Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman.
OKC's big three of Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, and Westbrook shot a combined 15-of-54 from the field — merely 27.8 percent from the field against a team that is bound to be at the cellar of the Western Conference this season.
The Thunder shot 33.7 percent from the field for the game, including 27 percent from deep — largely due to the happy-launching big three that was 8-of-26 from distance.
