The Minnesota Timberwolves had a nail-biter of a game against the Sacramento Kings, but they finally won after fighting through two overtimes. Andrew Wiggins was definitely happy that they finished their 11-game losing skid.

However, he explained that he would rather have done it in regulation. According to an NBC Sports article, he was nervous when Kings guard Buddy Hield took the final shot.

As he watched Buddy Hield‘s last-second 3-point shot clang off the back of the rim at the end of double overtime, Minnesota’s Andrew Wiggins breathed a sigh of relief that had been nearly a month in the making.

For the first time in December, the Timberwolves won a game.

“All you could do was look and watch,” Wiggins said. “I was looking at the shot and it missed. Thank God.”

It's definitely alarming that the Kings had to wait until after Christmas in order to win a basketball game. Karl-Anthony Towns is approaching his physical peak, but the Wolves' inability to surround him with talent is becoming a source of dissatisfaction. Moreover, his absence from the game due to a knee injury was definitely a factor in the game reaching two overtimes.

However, team effort helped the team through. Gorgui Dieng had a solid night, finishing with 21 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, and a block. Andrew Wiggins as equally important in the win, notching a near triple-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

The Wolves' next two games will be relatively easier, but Wiggins and company need to improve how they play if they want to battle for a playoff spot this year.
