The Minnesota Timberwolves received a rude awakening at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. They found out just how hard the NBA playoffs can be in Game 2 of the first-round series, losing 124-96.

Anthony Edwards scored 20 points on 7-16 shooting to lead the Timberwolves in their brutal defeat. The team's second-leading scorer, Karl-Anthony Towns, had just 15 points and battled foul trouble all night. The Grizzlies showed why they won the second-most games in the regular season.

Per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Edwards isn't worried and neither are the Timberwolves, who will be back in front of their home crowd. The loss was inarguably bad but they still have a series ahead of them.

“I’m not worried. I hope my teammates aren’t worried,” Edwards said. “We’re going back to Minnesota. They got to come to our house and play us twice at the crib. And our crowd, I’ll put our crowd up there with the best of them. It’s their problem to deal with.”

The Timberwolves will need more than an outburst from Edwards to regain the series lead. They need Towns to bounce back after a brutal performance. Edwards will have to be better with his shot selection, as well.

Minnesota is facing an uphill battle as they face the Grizzlies. Although they have shown and said that they are not afraid to make the climb, they will have to prepare better and be more efficient if they want to advance in the NBA playoffs for the first time in nearly 20 years.
