Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is one of the most notable high-flyers in the Association. His ability to rise above and posterize opponents with mind-boggling dunks is extremely impressive.

That being said, it's not exactly surprising that people are wondering if he'll ever participate in the Slam Dunk Contest in the future. Instead of just flat out saying no, the Timberwolves guard gave a rather hilarious response to why he won't be showcasing his dunking skills at All-Star Weekend anytime soon.

Via John Krawczynski of The Athletic:

That's fair enough. Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is another player who seems disinterested in partaking in the competition, but his reasoning is a little bit different. Nevertheless, Ant is must-see TV for the Timberwolves when he has the chance to use his hops and embarrass anyone who tries to get in his way around the hoop.

Edwards absolutely destroyed Gabe Vincent earlier this season with a ridiculous slam, but unfortunately, he was called for a foul. The one we all remember though is when Edwards put Yuta Watanabe in a bodybag last season with this:

Disgusting. The Timberwolves phenom is in the midst of another impressive campaign, averaging 22.2 points, 5.2 boards, and 3.6 assists on a 37% clip from downtown. We'll likely see him in the All-Star Game itself for many years to come, but the Slam Dunk Contest? It's going to be a negative.
