The Minnesota Timberwolves have got to be drooling over the early results from Anthony Edwards in his rookie season. Tapped as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft last November, Edwards has shown flashes of brilliance and dominance on the court this season. In the win-loss column though, it's been miserable for the Wolves this year.

They currently hold the worst record in the league. After the team's game on Wednesday, a win against the New York Knicks, Edwards and Malik Beasley partnered up for a post-game press conference and provided some gold, per Dane Moore.

Let's not forget about Karl-Anthony Towns but yes, Malik Beasley's point is noted. Edwards has taken some form of a leadership role on this Timberwolves team which is rare for a rookie who is still just 19-years old. He has spoken out numerous times this season when he's been upset with either himself or the team effort overall. It's just another reason on a long list of why the Wolves should be thrilled with what they've seen from Edwards so far.

The dude calls a spade a spade. No hesitation on the answer, Edwards knew if the Timberwolves want to form this roster into a contender in the coming years, they have to gain better focus.

Beasley figures to be a big part of it after signing an extension with Minnesota last year.

The pieces are in place. Edwards, Towns, Beasley, and D'Angelo Russell is certainly a core that you should be able to have success with. The problem for the Timberwolves has been having all four healthy and on the floor at the same time. Regardless, the future looks bright for Edwards and Minnesota.
