Minnesota Timberwolves forward Anthony Edwards woke up today feeling extra dangerous.

The Timberwolves opened their season on a winning note after dismantling the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, 124-106. Edwards led the charge, punishing the Rockets with shot after shot as if they stole his life savings.

The second-year forward particularly waxed hot in the second quarter, sinking a bunch of long range shots that sent the entire Timberwolves venue rocking. He also couldn't help but mock the Rockets by signaling a timeout for them. After the game, Edwards confirmed his little trolling (via Complex).

“Yeah, I was tellin' the coach to call a damn timeout. You need a timeout. I'm hot!”

Everything that comes out of Edward's mouth is gold.

Edwards, last year's no. 1 overall pick, finished with 29 points on 6-of-12 shooting from long distance. He also added six rebounds and three assists in 31 electrifying minutes. The Timberwolves' Big Three of Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and D'Angelo Russell combined for 81 points.

Edwards said it was great to hear the Timberwolves fans going crazy, especially since there haven't been many feel-good stories for the squad in recent years.

“Last year, it was freezing in the gym. This year, it’s hot. You hear everybody. Different atmosphere, man. Just great.”

The Timberwolves can notch three straight wins in front of their fans when they host the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back games on Saturday and Monday.
