The Minnesota Timberwolves received awful news today, as Derrick Rose, Robert Covington and Jeff Teague were all declared out for the season, according to Seth Kaplan of Fox Sports.

Covington had a setback in his recovery from a knee injury while Derrick Rose has a chip fracture in his right elbow, forcing both out for the remainder of this 2018-19 season. Teague, who recently received an injection to address inflammation in his left foot, will also miss the remaining games and be re-evaluated in the next three weeks, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Head coach Ryan Saunders has been adamant that there is no interest in tanking, but stressed his healthy guys will play and guys who aren't fit to take the court will sit.

The Timberwolves had been facing injury issues for quite a while now, with this update bringing some sense of finality in an otherwise rollercoaster of a season.

Minnesota is 32-39 this season and has lost four games in a row, including seven of their last 10 to kill any chance of a potential playoff chance in this crowded Western Conference.

For now they will be forced to see Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins in action for the 11 games remaining in the season, hoping to manage their minutes as well to prevent further injuries to an already battered roster.
