After signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves last Thursday, Derrick Rose finally made his debut for them on Sunday against the Golden State Warriors. He received a DNP-CD from Tom Thibodeau last Friday when they took on the Boston Celtics, but was able to see six minutes of action versus the Dubs.

However, his career with the Wolves did not start on a high note, as he finished the game with a plus-minus of -17, according to Bleacher Report, after only scoring two points, on 1-of-5 shooting from the field, while adding a rebound, two assists, and two turnovers across his name.

The former MVP started this season as part of the Cleveland Cavaliers roster. Despite demanding a high salary last summer, he settled for the veteran's minimum with them, as he was not able to generate a lot of interest from teams around the league. He was then traded to the Utah Jazz ahead of last month's trade deadline, before getting waived by the team.

Derrick Rose then became a free agent once he cleared waivers, and is now reunited with his former head coach, along with Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson in Minneapolis.

The benefit of the doubt can be given to Rose for now that he is still trying to learn the system the Wolves have in place. He is expected to play better in their coming games, and should receive a fair amount of playing time, especially in the playoffs, given his skill set and experience. If he plays well, it could also lead to him getting offers this offseason, as he is once again slated to become a free agent.
