The Minnesota Timberwolves got a much needed 110-106 win against the New Orleans Pelicans behind another monster performance from their big man, Karl Anthony Towns.

Towns posted 27 points, a career-high 27 rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and two steals in the win.

During his postgame interview, the Timberwolves crowd let Karl-Anthony Towns know they loved what they've seen from him tonight.

Despite being matched up with fellow All-Star Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns dominated the Pelicans down low, as he shot 10-23 from the field (43 percent).

The Timberwolves had six players score in double figures. Andrew Wiggins had 18 points and seven boards, Josh Okogie added 17 points and five rebounds, while Tyus Jones and Dario Saric combined for 28 points off the bench.

Davis, who was already bothered by a shoulder injury, was a game-time decision entering the matchup against the Timberwolves. He tweaked his ankle against but was able to return and finished the game with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists. He got much-needed help from Julius Randle, who also had a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards, and Jrue Holiday who had an all-around game with 25 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

Both the Timberwolves and the Pelicans are trying to make it to the Western Conference playoffs, which they were able to do last year. However, both teams lost key players who were instrumental in their postseason run, and they've struggled to rack up wins ever since.

Minnesota still has a legitimate shot to make it, though, as they are only three games behind the eighth seeded Los Angeles Lakers. With 42 games left, both the Wolves and the Pels will have enough time to turn their season around.
