Buffalo, New York was the epicenter of a mass shooting at a local supermarket that killed 10 innocent bystanders and wounded three others. Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves sent out his sincere condolences on the tragedy.

The Timberwolves big man took to Twitter to vocalize his thoughts on the matter.

“Sending prayers to all the families affected by the Buffalo shooting and having to deal with this unspeakable and atrocious attack. The world is becoming a scarier and scarier place, especially for Black people,” said the Timberwolves star.

The suspect, an 18-year-old white male who wore full-on tactical gear, live-streamed the horrific acts on an unconfirmed online platform believed to be Twitch. The shooting was reportedly racially-motivated and is being categorized as a hate crime. Of the 13 victims affected by the shooting, 11 are Black while the two others are white.

Aside from the Timberwolves star, local hero and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen also sent out his message on the unfortunate incident.

Towns has roots not too far away from Buffalo as a New Jersey native. The Timberwolves center has dealt with his own personal tragedies as he lost his mother and various members of his family to COVID-19 earlier in the pandemic.
