The NBA has continued to stretch its outreach to around the globe that has included playing several games in various countries outside of the United States.

According to the Associated Press, the Minnesota Timberwolves are set to play in their first-ever preseason game in China in franchise history.

The abbreviated exhibition schedule will include games in Anaheim on Sept. 30 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and in China on Oct. 5 and Oct. 8 against the Golden State Warriors.

The Timberwolves will get a sneak preview of what their revamped roster could do against the defending champion Golden Stae Warriors in a pair of preseason games. Minnesota has made several key additions to their roster with the acquisition of All-Star forward Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls while signing both former All-Star point guard Jeff Teague and veteran big man Taj Gibson in free agency.

There is plenty of hype around the team given the tremendous amount of talent on the roster that includes two rising stars in Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins in their fold. The duo could see themselves enter the picture as potential All-Stars this upcoming season.

The Timberwolves have an opportunity to take a huge step forward while becoming a serious contender in the Western Conference that could challenge the Warriors.
