The Minnesota Timberwolves are hiring Houston Rockets executive Gersson Rosas as their new President of Basketball Operations, according to multiple reports.

Rosas was the NBA's only Latino vice president of basketball operations with the Rockets.

Rosas will now have to decide if he wants to keep Ryan Saunders as the Timberwolves head coach. Saunders replaced Tom Thibodeau in January. Minnesota missed the playoffs this season. They had a record of 36-46.

Karl-Anthony Towns is the best player on the Timberwolves. The two-time All-Star has established himself as one of the best big men in the game. KAT averaged 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.6 percent from the free-throw line.

After Towns, the Timberwolves' roster is pretty poor. Andrew Wiggins hasn't lived up to the hype of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 Draft. The swingman signed a lucrative five-year, $147.7 million maximum contract with the Timberwolves in the summer of 2017. Wiggins averaged 18.1 points this season, but just shot 41.2 percent from the floor.

Derrick Rose was the Timberwolves' second-most consistent player in 2018-19, but he only played in 51 games. Rose becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. Veteran Jeff Teague, meanwhile has already picked up his $19 million player option for next season.

Rosas has a lot of work to do in Minnesota.
