The highly-publicized spat between Minnesota Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins and retired NBA champion Stephen Jackson does not appear to be coming to peaceful ending anytime soon. Nonetheless, Jackson, who started this whole fiasco in the first place, does seem willing to hash it out with the Wolves stud — eventually.

Former NBA superstar Jerry Stackhouse stepped in to try and resolve the beef between the two and appeared to have made some headway. Jackson admitted to taking Stackhouse's call and to listening to what he had to say about the matter. This via Bryan Kalbroski of Hoops Hype.

“Jackson explained to [C.J. McCollum on his Pull Up podcast] that he ‘listens to his big homies' when they speak. He knew Stackhouse is close with Andrew’s father Mitchell Wiggins because they are both from North Carolina.”

As it turns out, Stackhouse even tried to convince Jackson to reach out to Wiggins. Jackson refused to heed his big homie's advice, but went on to say that if the opportunity arose in the future, he would be happy to explain his side to Wiggins face to face.

“Stackhouse provided Jackson with Andrew’s phone number, but the ESPN analyst never reached out. He said he would let Stackhouse handle it, but also said he would clarify his point to Wiggins if he does ever happen to meet the Minnesota wing.”

At the end of the day, Jackson is just one of the many critics who have called out Wiggins for his alleged shortcomings. The best thing for the Wolves swingman to do now is to prove them all wrong by letting his game do the talking.
