Dion Lewis spent the last three years with the New England Patriots before signing a four-year deal this offseason with the Tennessee Titans. Lewis has always played with a chip on his shoulder and a big reason now is because he doesn't feel like the Patriots thought he was good enough to stick around on their team.

“I’m happy with the decision, and this is the decision I would’ve made even if they did offer,” Lewis said via Ben Volin of The Boston Globe. “If they wanted me, they could’ve had me. But obviously, they didn’t want me, they didn’t think I was good enough to be there. I just had to move on and do what’s best for me.”

Lewis finished with 896 yards and six touchdowns on the ground last year, the best output of his career. He also did a good job of being a weapon in the passing game finishing with 214 yards and three touchdowns.

The Patriots have had a history of letting guys walk instead of paying them the big bucks and most of the time it actually works out for them. Lewis is doing everything in his power to make sure the Patriots pay for not keeping him on their team and he has a really good shot to do that with the Titans.

Lewis and bruising back Derrick Henry are expected to form a formidable one-two punch for the Titans in the next few years. Lewis is going to get a lot more opportunities to touch the ball and catch the ball out of the backfield.
