The expectations remain as high as ever for the Tennesee Titans going into the 2019 NFL season. Meanwhile, it appears defensive tackle Jurrell Casey has undergone some personnel changes this offseason.

Casey played decided to slim down last year and wound up playing the 2018 campaign at 275 pound, which is lowest he has weighed in his career. According to Jim Wyatt of the team website, he has decided to beef up this time around:

“I want to be a little bit stronger,” Casey said. “and a little bit stouter to help the overall team as a whole.”

Casey's approach is certainly understandable. He has long served as the anchor of this Titans' defense up front ever since his arrival prior to the 2011 NFL season. The veteran has clearly tried experimenting with different training regimens throughout his career. This included switching to a Vegan diet, which may have attributed to his smaller frame last year. He says he has now switched to a more protein-rich, Pescatarian diet.

Regardless of Casey's physique, he is still widely considered one of the best interior lineman in the league. He is coming off another stellar 2018 campaign that saw him register 62 tackles and seven sacks en route to being selected to his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl.

Unfortunately, a knee injury forced him to sit out of the season finale that ultimately cost his team the playoffs. It is safe to say that he has garnered enough individual honors and he would like to add the ultimate team honor to his trophy case next season.
