The Tennessee Titans failed to reach the postseason as a result of the 2018-19 campaign, due in part to the absence of Pro Bowl tight end Delanie Walker. Walker notably injured his ankle during the team's Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins and did not return to action for the remainder of the season.

Such a loss was definitely felt as Walker has become a key piece of the Titans' offensive game plan. With such a notion perhaps more evident than ever, Titans starting quarterback Marcus Mariota knows just how important Walker is to Tennessee.

“Delanie was such a vital part of the offense, and he caused matchup problems. Teams tried to figure out how to match up against him or maybe even put two guys on him,” Mariota recently told Turron Davenport of ESPN.

It appears as though Walker is looking to return to form come 2019-20 as the veteran tight end is now setting out to prove the doubters wrong.

“I don’t really remember how old I am,” Walker said, via ESPN. “They can judge me all they want. I already know people are going to say it’s going to be a struggle to come back off an injury like this. They doubted me before and look how far I got. I am just going to prove everybody wrong.”

The Titans have finished the regular season with a 9-7 record three years in a row while only reaching the postseason once during that span. However, upon reaching the postseason in 2017-18, Tennessee did manage to win a road playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
