The Tennessee Titans were able to come away with a much-needed victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, 20-0. Tennessee is now 9-4 on the season and is in first place of the AFC South. They have a two-game lead against the second-place Indianapolis Colts.
Although the Titans were able to come away with a much-needed victory, there were still some things that they needed to work on and most of that was how the offensive line played.
After the game, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel had this to say,
“We have to do a better job of taking care of Ryan Tannehill. He was hit way too much.”
Tannehill was hit a little too often and that is not a good thing for this Titans team. They were able to walk away with a victory against the Jaguars but that is because they just simply aren't a good football team. Once they are going up against better teams and in the playoffs, they're going to need to protect their quarterback much more than they did on Sunday. If they fail to protect Tannehill, the Titans will not have much success in the playoffs.
They are already without Derrick Henry for the remainder of the season so if the offense wants to get anything going, Ryan Tannehill needs to be playing his best football and that's all dependent on what the offensive line can do for him.
The Titans will take on a tough Pittsburgh Steelers team next Sunday in a game that they should be able to walk away with a victory in.
