The Tennessee Titans hit a rough patch in their last two games. However, they're coming back from a much-needed bye week and aim to make a statement in the final stretch of the season. Due to the multiple injuries on the roster, Tennessee made a splash on Thursday after acquiring Zach Cunningham.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Titans claimed Zach Cunningham off waivers. The former Houston Texans linebacker was recently released after signing a massive deal in the offseason. Apparently, Cunningham didn't follow Texans' protocols and was let go for disciplinary reasons.

Now, one of the top teams in the AFC just acquired one of the top linebackers in the league. This was an area of concern for the Titans, as breakout linebacker David Long has been dealing with an injury for quite some time. Now, Tennessee has a veteran linebacker who is familiar with Mike Vrabel's defensive scheme and coaching style.

This is massive news for the Titans. With just five games left, the team seems to be getting healthier. Julio Jones is back in practice, while some of the other notable names on the Injury List have come back as well.

This team needs just two wins to clinch a playoff spot. Ideally, the Titans would love to have the top seed of the AFC. However, ensuring a playoff spot is the goal, regardless of what spot they have. With Zach Cunningham joining the defense, Tennessee gets a boost in production from the inside linebacker position.

We'll see how it plays out, but it shouldn't take long for Cunningham to earn a prominent role on the defense. Considering he's a great linebacker and already familiar with Mike Vrable, we could see him play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
