The Tennessee Titans were faced with one glaring void going into the offseason as they fired head coach Mike Mularkey shortly after exiting the playoffs. Fortunately, they have finally found their man.

Following their meeting earlier in the week, Mike Vrabel has now agreed to become the Titans' new head coach. Vrabel commented on his new gig in Tennessee in the team's press release:

“This is an incredible opportunity and one I have been preparing for my entire football life,” Vrabel said. “I want to thank Amy, Jon and the entire Titans organization for putting their faith in me. I am excited to get to work and that work starts now. We want to build a culture around winning, competitiveness and toughness. Everything we do is going to be geared towards winning and being physical. We want to prepare our players so they know what to do, which will allow them to play fast and aggressive.”

The Titans will reportedly sign the first-time head coach to a five-year deal.

Prior to joining the Titans, Vrabel had been a part of head coach Bill O'Brien's staff with the Houston Texans since 2014. He served as the linebackers coach for two years before being promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2017 NFL season.

Vrabel certainly brings a championship pedigree to Tennessee. He spent 14 years in the NFL as a player, going on to win three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Needless to say, he hopes to bring that same tenacity he did as a player to a promising team in the Titans as their new head coach.
