Just a day before the Tennessee Titans face the Los Angeles Chargers they are releasing one of their offseason acquisitions. According to Adam Schefter, Tennesee is releasing veteran defensive end Brent Urban.

Earlier in the offseason, the Titans signed Urban after he spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. During his time with the Ravens, Urban accumulated 3.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and four hits on the quarterback.

Despite the seemingly unproductive numbers, the Virginia product was a fan favorite in Baltimore. However, in Tennessee, Urban has suited up in just four games and has failed to start in any of them. Furthermore, he has only gotten 62 snaps on the defense to begin the season.

Above all, the release of Urban causes some compensatory pick drama that involves the Ravens. Due to Urban being released before Week 10, Baltimore will no longer receive a fourth-round pick for John Brown's departure in 2020.

The Ravens could possibly get that compensatory pick returned if they release Justin Bethel before Week 10. Even though Bethel has been a crucial special-teams contributor for them this season. Therefore, it is unlikely that John Harbaugh and the Ravens are worried about getting that mid-round pick back.

As for the Titans, they will now rely on Isaiah Mack, an undrafted rookie to fill in at defensive end. Along with Mack, Tennesee could look to promote rookie Amani Bledsoe from their practice squad. This is also could be pointing towards an imminent return for Jeffery Simmons, Tennesee's first-round pick in this year's draft.
