The Tennessee Titans have released tight end Delanie Walker, according to the team.

Walker played in just seven games this past season due to an ankle injury. When he was on the field, he logged 21 catches for 215 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 35-year-old was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

He spent the first seven years of his career with the 49ers. But he did not receive significant playing time, as his most productive season with the club came in 2012 when he caught 21 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns.

Walker then signed with the Titans in March 2013, which was when things took a turn for the better.

In his first season in Tennessee, Walker immediately flashed his talent. He snared 60 balls for 571 yard and six scores that season. He continued to improve the following year, finishing with 63 grabs for 890 yards while reaching the end zone four times. And in 2015, he had the best year of his career, hauling in 94 receptions for 1,088 yards and six touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

The Pomona, Ca. native proceeded to earn three straight Pro Bowl selections between 2015 and 2017. He registered at least 800 receiving yards each year.

But then, in 2018, the normally durable Walker suffered a season-ending elbow injury in Week 1. As a result, Walker has played in just eight games total over the last two seasons.

Walker had one year remaining on his deal and was slated to earn $1.7 million in 2020.
