R6 Extraction Gameplay & Features

In the latest addition to the R6 series, the Chimera has evolved—is evolving—into even more lethal variants called Archæans. In total, the game features over 10 archetypes. For example, the highly volatile Bloater explodes on contact and releases toxic gas, meanwhile the Lurker can make itself and other Archæans invisible. Tread carefully and avoid stepping on mines left by Sower, and be extra wary about the Tormenter that can quickly shapeshift and fire off a barrage of projectiles.

REACT's Operators head off to learn about and hunt down these dangerous parasites across 12 containment zones, all contributing to a rapidly changing ecosystem. To the point that there's even another more threatening type of creature: the Proteans. Mutating again, Archæans lurking in an area called the Singularity have adopted the form of REACT Operators, mimicking their behavior and posing quite the menace if you step too close.

From extracting intel from the Archæans' nest to hunting down a Tormenter, your team will have to complete a variety of mission types, each requiring different strategies and weapons. So, choose your Operators wisely and make sure you've packed the right gear—also called REACT tech—like a Field Wall to block off projectiles or Glue Grenades to slow enemies down.

Rainbow Six Extraction‘s got plenty of exciting features to make each incursion unique and challenging, and many players can't wait to test their metal against these mutant parasites.
