Elden Ring is not an exception to this rule as players all over the world experiment on builds to output the highest DPS. We'll be mainly focusing on the top 5 highest damage strength weapons Elden Ring can offer. There are a lot of builds that would lead to the highest damage output possible, so let's start with raw stats of the best scaling Elden Ring strength weapons.
A lot of the weapons on this list showcase the highest pure attack power in the game. All of the weapons are ranked by the computation of their Attack Rating (AR), which is widely known in all “souls games”. This means that we will only look at the raw damage output of each swing of the weapon. All weapons also have heavy affinity to maximize the Strength Scaling damage of each weapon and equipped two-handed to cap out strength. These weapons are also upgraded to their maximum potential to have an even comparison of each weapon. Here is the list of the top 5 highest damage strength weapons Elden Ring has:
5) Gargoyle's Heavy Halberd
Attack Rating = 782 (275 + 507)
The Gargoyle's Heavy Halberd is dropped by the Valiant Gargoyle enemy near the West Capital Rampart site of Leyndell Royal Capital. You have to defeat the big gargoyle in the area to acquire the weapon as its drop. The Valiant Gargoyle is pretty easy to take down if you've already killed its 2 other counterparts with different weapons weilded. At maximum upgrade, the base Physical Attack Power of the Gargoyle's Heavy Halberd is 275, which is low. However, with its ridiculous S STR attribute scaling, it gives you additional 507 attack damage, giving the 5th highest of 782 AR. Given the build of the player is maxing the STR attribute, this will benefit using the weapon. It is also worth mentioning that the Gargoyle's Halberd also has a decent move set due to its range, power and even speed. Unlike most of the heavy weapons, the halberd is completely flexible if you don't want to sacrifice your movement in battle.
4) Ruins Greatsword
Attack Rating = 857 (303 + 554)
Now the Ruins Greatsword not only boasts its raw stat compared to the Gargoyle Halberd but has an added factor that actually adds to its AR. It has Magic Attack Power of 90, so the total AR of the weapon is actually over 900. The Ruins Greatsword also has a special attack that already deals magic damage, without ashes of war needed. However, if given the ashes of war to the weapon, it enables you to use the unique skill of Wave of Destruction. The unique skill fires a huge shockwave in front of you, that can wipe out a lot of mobs in the way. This will give you an easier time clearing out areas that has a lot of enemies that you want to quickly clean off the map. It has an S STR attribute scaling like the Gargoyle Halberd but also has D INT scaling to add to your magic attack. The bonus damage given to it applies to both physical and magical attacks. This weapon can actually contest the top spot if we would not only calculate for the raw physical attack power. The Ruins Greatsword can be acquired by defeating Misbegotten Warrior and the Crucible Knight in Redmane Castle Plaza. The Misbegotten Warrior is actually easy to kill with simple attacks and dodges. The Crucible Knight will come out to help the enemy if the Misbegotten Warrior is already around half HP. Now the Crucible Knight would be harder to face due to it being durable. It also charges straight towards you with multiple attacks so you should watch out for its pattern and dodge if needed. After defeating both enemies, the Ruins Greatsword is now yours.
3) Heavy Greatsword
Attack Rating = 874 (349 + 525)
The famous Guts Greatsword gets the top 3 spot for the highest AR in physical attack power. Everybody who plays the souls games would like to get this greatsword immediately. The best thing about this game is you can actually get it as early as you can! It is found in Caelid, Dragonbarrow, north-west to the Caelem Ruins Site of Grace, inside of the caravan guarded by enemies. You will see a wagon. The best route to not alarm the surrounding enemies is to go up the hill near it and jump directly above the wagon to head straight to the back of it. The chest that contains the sword will be there for your taking. It has a high AR of 874, despite the fact that you can already get this sword early. It also doesn't matter that it only has A STR attribute scaling since it actually overtakes Gargoyle Halberd's bonus damage. The move set is incredible when it comes to PVP or PVE. The sword gives you flexibility and mobility to work around in dealing with your enemies. A lot of people will surely go for this weapon before picking up their final weapon of choice.
2) Prelate's Heavy Inferno Crozier
Attack Rating = 918 (332 + 586)
The Prelate's Heavy Inferno Crozier is one of the highest base stats when it comes to raw power having a total of 332 Physical Attack Power at maximum upgrade. This nasty looking weapon is deadly given its A STR attribute scaling that gives 586 bonus damage on top of the innate power. It also has a unique skill called the Prelate's Charge where you run straight dealing continuous damage. It's move set also is top tier when it comes to heavy weapons. It has a quick swing while running for a heavy weapon, as well as 2 continuous heavy attacks, which is rare to have. You can get the weapon from a Fire Prelate wielding it nearby Whiteridge Road grace. It has a mixture of melee and long range attacks in its arsenal. You have to watch out for the fireballs it throws at the top of its head. After killing the Fire Prelate, the weapon it weilded is yours to keep.
1) Heavy Giant-Crusher
Attack Rating = 947 (330 + 617)
Of course, we wouldn't forget about the highest damage output possible known to Elden Ring when it comes to Physical Attacks. The Giant Crusher gives the user 330 raw power. However, with its S STR attribute scaling, the bonus it gives is the highest among all weapons with a whopping amount of 617 bonus damage. That totals to the highest AR possible for physical damage, which is 947. No wonder you need 60 STR to even equip this beast of a weapon. The move set is pretty much the same with the Prelate's Heavy Inferno Crozier, except for the unique ability. The weapon can be found in a chest directly to the south of Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace. After defeating the mini boss, you can get it from the back of the wagon.
There is actually a ridiculous build that's going around the community that literally one shot's any boss in the game. This makes use of 2 Giant Crushers on each hand called the “glass cannon BONK build”. With the perfect build and skills like Determination and/or Knight's Resolve to back it up, this will not be impossible to achieve. Now this would surely entice all STR build players to try and have some fun with killing bosses without breaking a single sweat.
