Kevin Durant joked with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports that 2019 will probably be the last time the Toronto Raptors play in the NBA Finals.

Kawhi Leonard guided the Raptors to their first-ever championship. Leonard left Toronto after one season and is now with the Los Angeles Clippers.

When he was escorted off the Scotiabank Arena almost two months ago, he was in a daze. Unable to process what had just occurred, all he knew was that he was being helped to the locker room. Initially, he was met with an awful gesture of cheers and applause from fans in attendance before Raptors players signaled the crowd to stop.

Durant doesn’t remember hearing the fans that night, but he has something for them to hear now.

“It will probably be the last time they will be in the Finals,” Durant told Yahoo Sports with a smirk.

The Raptors will still be a good team moving forward, but when you lose a superstar like Kawhi Leonard, it's tough to recapture that championship pedigree.

With Leonard gone, the Raptors' roster is now headlined by Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet.

Before Leonard got to Toronto, the Raptors were always playoff chokers. Kawhi took that franchise to heights they will never reach again — according to KD — unless they acquire another transcendent talent.
