Ubisoft celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Assassin's Creed franchise with a new rogue-lite game mode “Forgotten Saga” and a free-to-play weekend.

Ubisoft's celebration of the critically-acclaimed and best-selling franchise will involve months of surprises, collaborations, rewards, community activities, and more. For this occasion, players will get a lot of cool stuff out of all Assassin's Creed titles, culminating in a celebration this September where Ubisoft plans to share with the community the direction Assassin's Creed will be taking in the future.

On top of all of the new free content arriving in Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Year 2 Content Roadmap, players will also be able to take part in Odin's rogue-lite-inspired journey to Nilfeim with the new game mode called “The Forgotten Saga.” Death is an integral part of an assassin's life, but now, Eivor will experience death over and over again as the Viking assassin gets sent to Hel over and over again. The Forgotten Saga will be offered for free to all Assassin's Creed Valhalla players. The last episodes of Eivor's story will also be offered for free by the development team towards the end of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's life cycle.

Outside of Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins will now have 60FPS support for the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions of the game. Ancient Egypt will feel even more immersive now with fewer stutters and more grandiose. To celebrate this momentous event, Origins will have a free-to-play weekend from June 16 to June 20. To celebrate 15 years of the franchise, each week, a game will be featured, offering new content, rewards, and interactive experiences for all players on assassinscreed15.com, a new website dedicated to the celebration of this anniversary. To start off this celebration, several sets of Origins tattoos along with a naval pack are now available in Valhalla.

Ubisoft is also partnering with the Faculty of Education at McGill University to develop curriculum guides for teachers and students, available online for free, to help them make the most of Discovery Tour as learning tools for the classroom.

Since its first launched title in 2007, the Assassin's Creed franchise has sold over 155 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most established and longest-running active series in the digital age era of gaming.
