The next possible title challenger of reigning UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has already made his pitch.

Charles Oliveira has proven his cynics wrong once again after beating Dustin Poirier at UFC 269. The champion got rocked by his challenger a couple of times early in the fight and was even dropped by a devastating left hook from. However, Oliveira stormed his way back and get the job done in the third round, submitting Poirier via rear-naked choke.

As expected, Oliveira's next possible opponents are already lining up. Among them is current No. 1 UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje.

Unlike other challengers, Gaethje has given Oliveira his props but vowed to “break his face” as soon as they meet inside the UFC cage.

“I absolutely loved it. I will give no disrespect to Charles [Oliveira]. He is now the undisputed champion and I cannot wait to fight him. I don’t care where or when,” Gaethje said via MMAFighting.com.

“I saw a competitor tonight. I saw a dog and I can’t wait to break his face. He gets hit a lot,” he added. “He better pray and hope for the next however many days until our fight that he takes me down, gets his choke. Because if not, we see what happens.”

Until then, Oliveira remains unfazed by all the talking from his UFC lightweight contemporaries, stressing, “I'm the world champion. I'm the man. They talk. I do it.”

Oliveira's win over Poirier saw him extending his remarkable UFC winning streak to ten consecutive fights. He has never tasted defeat since 2018.
